Thomson Nelson Kumwenda is a growth-oriented, entrepreneurial Chief Finance Officer, Economist, and Certified Public Accountant (CPA, Malawi) with over 16 years of practical experience in corporate finance, accounting, auditing, and financial strategy.
He has led complex mergers and acquisitions, IPOs, bond listings, and raised diverse capital instruments across the financial spectrum. Thomson holds a PhD (2025) and Master’s Degree in Economics from the University of Malawi, with research focused on banking and public sector economics. He also holds a Bachelor of Accountancy and is a certified ACCA professional and licensed valuer.
He serves as a Non-Executive Director on several boards, including InfraWorks Development Ltd, and is a member of the Technical Standards Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Malawi.
