Fredrick Chanza is a seasoned finance and economic development expert with over 15 years of experience in public finance, development finance, and regional economic integration. As a Director at MMC Laboratories Limited, he brings a wealth of strategic insight and leadership honed through a distinguished career in both government and financial institutions.
Fredrick currently serves as Managing Director of the Export Development Fund (EDF) in Malawi, where he has led transformative initiatives in trade finance, industrial park development, and structured markets for precious minerals. His leadership has been instrumental in securing over US$20 million in export financing, operationalizing national gold and gemstone markets, and advancing Malawi’s participation in continental trade platforms such as the Intra-Africa Trade Forum.
He holds an MSc in Energy Economics (with distinction) from the University of Dundee and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Malawi. Fredrick is widely respected for his expertise in economic analysis, deal structuring, and public policy, and has contributed to several national and international publications on fiscal policy and resource management.
